How to add a solid colour as a background?

In your dashboard menu select cookbook > layout > inside pages.

Click on a thumbnail page on the left of your template so it highlights in yellow.

Next, click the background in the symbol bar.

Next, the background pop-up box will appear. Only use the color function in the background box.  *Read the reasons why at the end of this article.

Next to the color is a box with a round circle and a dropdown arrow. Select the dropdown arrow.

Click on one of the circles to select a solid color. Or custom chose your own color by adding a Hex code.

To remove the background color, click transparent at the bottom of the color swatch pop-up box.

Alternatively, instead of a solid color you also have a choice of choosing a gradient color (see image below) This will create an effect where the color is dark at the bottom of the page and gradually gets lighter at the top.

*Adding an image as a background will result in the image being stretched. This also applies if you add an image from our library, our team is unable to convert the image to high resolution.  Instead, use the Insert or Replace button in the symbol bar to add photo images.

*Changing the theme or if you reset the theme will remove the Create Cookbooks theme. The guides are created by Create Cookbooks to keep the text within these guides and are a safe area so the text is not cut off in print. However, Images can bleed off the page.
