Checklist for cover pages prior to publishing

1. Front and back cover

Add a personal image or image from our library onto the cover page. Make sure images are inserted onto the page instead of inserted as a background. There are several reasons for this.

  • The image can stretch when placed as a background.
  • Our team checks the image for quality and brightness before printing, and we are unable to access the image if placed as a background.
  • Our team can reposition the image if needed.
  • Our team can create the necessary trim marks prior to printing, especially for books printed as a hardback.
  • Check the text on your cover (page 1) or back cover (page 4) are within the guidelines.

To turn on guides see the image below.

It is essential to make sure the text is on or within the safety guides so as not to risk having it cut off in print. See the image below.

2. Inside front and back cover for hardback only - PUR bound

On the inside front and back (pages 2 & 3) of your cover template, you can choose a solid white or black colour.

Note: If you are printing wire bind or softcover, you can add text and images to pages 2 and 3 of your cover file.

3. (If applicable) Inside front and back cover for Hardback or Fabric combo - Section sewn

You can opt to feature an add-on called "endpaper" for the hardback section sewn. See the sample image below showing a "solid colour endpaper" or "photo image endpaper". This can be selected when placing your order.

4. Spine

The spine text is on page 5 of your cookbook. You can add a colour to match your cover Click this link to show you how to pick a colour to match your cover.

*For  Premium or Community members our team can do this for you after you have placed your order.
